Job Description

International gastroenterologists invited to apply! Great opportunity to join a team of five full time gastroenterology consultants in a settled, friendly and supportive gastroenterology department in the midlands. 

Candidates are expected to have a broad based gastroenterology and endoscopy background, with sub-specialist skills.

The appointee will work closely with the existing gastroenterologists in providing the full range of inpatient and outpatient hepatology services, including diagnosis, investigation and treatment of patients. He/she will be highly skilled in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.

Recent years have seen the hospital provide Level 2 liver services and a replacement post is required to continue the service.

The hepatology service offers a wide range of general liver clinics encompassing hepatobiliary cancer, viral hepatitis, PSC, autoimmune liver disease, alcohol and NAFLD. They have an excellent close working relationship with the regional Liver Unit.

They are also part of the regional HCV network providing DAA drugs to patients with HCV infection according to operational managed network.

Requirements for this position include:

  • MRCP UK 
  • IELTS or OET
  • Extensive training and experience in Gastroenterology and Hepatology

The trust will support those requiring at Tier 2 visa and not yet on the specialist register. This would come in the form of supporting candidates to attain outstanding competencies in Gastroenterology, thus attaining specialist registration.
