A fantastic opportunity for Neurology CESR applicants who are keen to work towards their specialist registration in the NHS.
Working for a medium sized district general hospital in the midlands, the post holder will be expected to undertake three outpatient clinics per week, which cover the areas of general neurology and one subspecialty clinic.
You will be expected to support the TIA service and to provide a prompt consultation service for referrals from the hospital wards and arrange transfer to the larger partnered hospital where appropriate. There are two Parkinson’s Disease nurses working in the community who are supervised by the neurologists and who undertake weekly clinics at the hospital and see ward referrals. The CCG has recently agreed to four new specialist nurses in the areas of epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, rare neurological disorders and Parkinson’s Disease and the post holder will have responsibility for supporting their clinical activity for governance and quality purposes. They will support the training of junior medical staff from time to time and also of medical students
Requirements for this position are:
- MRCP UK
- SCE in Neurology
- Extensive experience in neurology, with sub-interests welcome
- OET or IELTS
