Senior Gastroenterologists from varying levels of experience can be considered for either consultant roles, or specialty doctor roles with aspirations to complete CESR applications and work as NHS consultants.
This is an opportunity to join a highly motivated gastroenterology team in providing a comprehensive service of the highest quality. Given the range of interests amongst the current consultants in post and close working relationships with the neighbouring trust, most subspecialty interests would be supported.
A consultant with an interest in ERCP and an interest in hepatology is desirable but neither is essential. Other special interests such as endoscopy, nutrition, research and teaching would also be welcome.
Facilities available include a modern fully JAG-accredited 4-room endoscopy suite equipped with an image intensifier, new videoscopes, two colonic scope-guide imagers, YAG laser, APC, bipolar and heater probe, endoclips, colonic, biliary, oesophageal and duodenal stents. We will be commencing Bowelscope screening as part of the National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme this year. The Trust has recently purchased two new CT scanners and new MRI scanner.
Requirements for this position are:
- MRCP or equivalent
- OET or IELTS
- Exensive experience in gastroenterology and hepatology
- SCE in Gastroenterology is desirable
