Fantastic opportunity for consultant looking to attain CESR in Geriatric Medicine with a supportive NHS department.
The trust provides healthcare services for a population of around 280,000 and is a replacement post for a retiring doctor.
This is a 10 PA post and the successful applicant will take responsibility for elderly patients on the main ward blocks, will independently lead two outpatient clinics per week for general geriatric medicine with on-call commitments for unselected admissions (1 in 14).
In addition there will be three weekly ward rounds, daily consultant input and regular MDTs.
You will also be fully expected to take an active involvement with directorate teaching, management and clinical governance activities.
Multidisciplinary team working and colleague support is very strong here and this hospital is a fantastic place for aspiring NHS consultants to work towards their CESR in Geriatric Medicine.
Requirements for this position are:
- MRCP UK
- OET or IELTS in place, or excellent english that allows for exemptions
- SCE in Geriatric Medicine is desirable
- Experience working at consultant level, ideally in either Acute, Acute Geriatrics or Geriatric Medicine
Again, this is a great opportunity for either UK based Geriatricians looking to further their careers - or international doctors looking to be supported through the CESR process. The trust has a fantastic record of supporting international doctors to become substantive consultants.
