Job Description

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Specialist in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry to join a well-established and expanding Neurodevelopmental CAMHS Team in Central London. Suitable for overseas and UK based psychiatrists alike - the trust will support CESR, Section 12 and AC. 

WHAT IS THE NHS TRUST / HEALTH BOARD LIKE? 
This NHS Trust  provides a full range of mental health, community and physical healthcare services for children, adults and older people living in these London boroughs.  They also provide some specialist services that are commissioned regionally, such as a medium secure services; and nationally, such as a specialist hospital for people with complex and severe personality disorder

This NHS vacancy in CAMHS offers comprehensive Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, for children, young people and families in the 0-18 age range. It is a London community based out patient service characterised by family centred and individually tailored treatment packages. There are close links with colleagues in Tier 2 CAMHS services, Acute and Community Paediatrics, Education, Social Services, Primary Care, and Adult Mental Health Services.

WHAT IS THE CAMHS TEAM LIKE? 
The post-holder will join a multidisciplinary team, and will work alongside a Consultant Psychiatrists in the newly commissioned waiting list team, to support the transformation of the service, including a waiting list initiative. The team has been successful in a bid for additional funds to provide additional clinical staff and access to web-based assessment tools. This post offers specialist training in all aspects of assessment in relation to ASD, ADHD and tics disorders and there will be opportunities to run/ be part of groups in psychoeducation, do targeted pieces of therapy and offer medication clinics. There is available training to attend evidence-based specialist assessment and treatment courses for neurodevelopmental disorders.

ARE YOU ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE?

EEA Candidates:

  • Experience of working in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (essential)
  • Board Certified Specialist in Psychiatry (desirable)

Non-EEA Candidates:

  • MRCPsych or PLAB (essential)
  • Experience of working in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (essential)

UK based applicants

  • Experience of working in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (essential)
  • Within 12 months of completing CCT (desirable)
