Consultant - CAMHS / Learning Disabilities Psychiatry

Job Description

An opportunity for an experienced Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with an interest in Learning Disability Psychiatry to join a dedicated and passionate NHS community CAMHS team in the North West of England.

This full time post could be based in one of several community CAMHS LD teams across the region, and will be agreed during the interview process based on preference.

This role is suitable for both UK based and overseas applicants, including those interested in completing CESR.

They have an extremely active education/teaching programme which our Consultants enjoy supporting.

The Trust specialises in secure, inpatient and community mental health services. The NHS Foundation Trust covers the whole of the county and employs around 7,500 members of staff across more than 420 sites, working with a multitude of partners to provide health & wellbeing services. The Trust’s vision is to provide high quality care, in the right place, at the right time, every time.

WHAT IS THE CAMHS LD TEAM LIKE?
The CAMHS team is one of the 7 CAMH Services within the NHS Foundation Trust. There are good links with primary care, Children's Services, local schools and the Paediatricians at the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.

The post is within the tier 3 CAMHS LD team, which provide Learning Disability Psychiatry to children up to the age of 18 years.

With an extremely active education/teaching programme supported by the consultant team, there is opportunity to work towards and complete CESR, RCPsych exams, get involved in active research and many aspects of CPD.

ARE YOU ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE?

EEA Candidates:
  • Experience of working in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Experience or an interest in Learning Disability Psychiatry
  • Board Certified Specialisation in Psychiatry
Non-EEA Candidates:
  • MRCPsych
  • Experience or an interest in Learning Disability Psychiatry
  • Consultant Experience in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
UK based applicants
  • Experience of working in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Experience or an interest in Learning Disability Psychiatry
  • Within 6 - 12 months of completing CCT
