An opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join an established NHSSpecialist Learning Disability Community Mental Health Team in the North West of England. 

These x2 full time NHS psychiatry vacancies would be based at one of the established LD teams across the trust, in mutual agreement on preferred site.

This is a really exciting opportunity to work with a range of adults within a passionate multidisciplinary team.

These vacancies would be suitable for either experienced UK based candidates, EEA consultants or overseas applicants with MRCPsych.

The Trust specialises in secure, inpatient and community mental health services. It covers the whole of the county and employs around 7,500 members of staff across more than 420 sites, working with a multitude of partners to provide health & wellbeing services. WHAT IS THE TEAM LIKE?

You would be joining an enthusiastic supportive team of Consultant Learning Disability Psychiatrists covering the community/outpatient teams that provide specialist assessment and care for adults with learning disabilities. 

The teams have been designed to meet RCPSYCH standards, and you will be working with RMNs, Psychologist, nursery nurses, occupational therapists, peer support workers, pharmacist and junior doctors in addition to service and team managers.

You will work with a large number of partners and stakeholders both in mental health services, universal services and specialist nurses and health visitors.

With an extremely active education/teaching programme supported by the consultant team, there is opportunity to work towards and complete CESR, RCPsych exams, get involved in active research and many aspects of CPD. 

ARE YOU ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE?

EEA Candidates:

  • Experience of working in Learning Disability Psychiatry

  • Board Certified Specialist in Psychiatry

Non-EEA Candidates:

  • MRCPsych

  • Experience of working in Learning Disability Psychiatry
UK based applicants: 
  • Experience of working in Learning Disability Psychiatry
  • Within 6 - 12 months of completing CCT
