Job Description

An opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist or Specialty Doctor in General Adult Psychiatry to join one of three Community Mental Health Teams in the North West of England. CESR, Section 12 and AC training & development are supported in this NHS post. Situated north of Manchester, the location is ideal for those looking for the city life, or the peace and quiet of the countryside. The role is ideal for experienced General Adult Psychiatrists looking for an NHS job in a friendly and supportive team. Specialty Doctors or Associate Specialists will also be considered for the role, a good level of experience in General Adult Psychiatry would be essential. 

This full time (10PA), permanent post would be based within either the Community mental Health Team (CMHT), Single Point of Access Team, or Urgent Care Pathway. 

This is a really exciting opportunity to work with patients and their families as part of a passionate multidisciplinary team and a very supportive NHS Trust. Overseas applications are welcomed and the trust has in place numerous support measures to make all new recruits career change a success.

WHAT IS THE THE GENERAL ADULT PSYCHIATRY COMMUNITY TEAM LIKE?
Situated on the coast, the immediate area is almost entirely urban, containing several towns. The rest of the the catchment area is rural with villages. 

The services are delivered as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) that works with individual patients. The psychological services provided are comprehensive and include a range of assessments and treatments.  The occupational therapy services provide a wide range of opportunities for patients.

EEA Candidates:

  • Experience of working in General Adult Psychiatry

  • Board Certified Specialist in Psychiatry

Non-EEA Candidates:

  • MRCPsych

  • Experience of working in General Adult Psychiatry

UK based applicants

  • Experience of working in General Adult Psychiatry

  • Within 6 - 12 months of completing CCT
