The Department & Team
The Obstetrics & Gynaecology department delivers a wide range of services, handling approximately 2,000 operations and over 350 emergency cases annually. The department features a Day Surgery Unit, Colposcopy and Outpatient Hysteroscopy Unit, and an Early Pregnancy Unit. The Obstetric service manages around 1,000 births each year, supported by a well-equipped Labour Ward and a dedicated Maternity Operating Theatre. The team is comprised of skilled gynaecology nurses and healthcare assistants, ensuring comprehensive patient care and support.
Continued Professional Development
This NHS job offers further training & accreditation within Obstetrics & Gynaecology, including CESR Portfolio Pathway Support, access to specialty training, and the opportunity to develop sub-specialist interest. The role involves supporting senior consultants, training junior staff, engaging in audit activities, and participating in the development of clinical protocols to enhance patient care standards.
