The histopathology department is based within a Teaching Hospital linked to a London University, and is the Cancer Centre for the region.
Department overview:
Small but friendly and supportive team of Histopathologists, who will be supportive of your ambition to complete CESR.
The team is made up of 7 Consultants, with cross departmental working across all of the hospitals in the network, sharing knowledge and expertise in all areas of Histopathology.
The workload is varied but as the designated cancer centre for the region this includes a large amount of interesting complex cancer cases.
CESR:
The service and lead consultants will offer support and supervision in gaining all the skills necessary to work as senior specialty doctor and eventually as a consultant working in the UK, in particular around independent reporting.
They will offer attachments in the specialist fields required for CESR, and have a busy mortuary where they can provide post mortem experience or demonstrations.
Local area:
The Trust is located close to the sea with many areas of outstanding natural beauty and excellent links to international airports.
This is a greta are for individuals and families alike. Schools are a prominent feature, and the area has many excellent places to buy and rent property. Much cheaper than London!
Requirements for the post:
A range of experiences will be considered. So long as you hold a good level of experience working at a senior level in Histopathology, your application will be consider.
The role can accommodate your needs and level of experience. Consultants & speciality doctors are encouraged to apply.
