WHAT IS THE GENERAL ADULT PSYCHIATRY DEPARTMENT & TEAM LIKE?
The post holder will work alongside the multi-disciplinary team and a SAS psychiatrist allocated to the NW CATT. People receiving services from the community services are predominantly severely mentally ill and so active involvement in the process of care programming is vital.
The post holder will be expected to work independently on a day-to-day basis and also provide supervision to multidisciplinary team. The post holder will be based at Hemel Hempstead and will be expected to do regular home visits across the catchment area. The successful candidate would be supporting the multidisciplinary team in providing diagnostic assessments and treatment to patients with severe, complex, and high risk psychiatric conditions.
The Team gets about 80 referrals a months and on average case load of 30 patients receiving acute home treatment support at any time. The Crisis & Home Treatment Team are the gatekeepers to the Acute Care Pathway. Most referrals come via the Single Point of Access, First response team, Community Mental Health Teams (Adults of Working Age) and mental health liaison services.
