Job Description

A large teaching hospital based in the East Midlands is looking for a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine with an interest in Cystic Fibrosis, Bronchiectasis, Sleep (+/- Complex Ventilation) and/or COPD. The Respiratory Medicine department comprises a team of 25 consultants and is supported by a large team of middle grade doctors. This Respiratory Medicine job is open to both international applications and UK-based doctors, though those with European Specialist or UK CCT are most encouraged to apply.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND DETAILS

Specialist or eligibility for specialist GMC registration is required for this role, and anyone with an interest in Cystic Fibrosis, Bronchiectasis, Complex Ventilation or Sleep, or COPD should apply. 

CORE DUTIES OF THIS ROLE

  • Provide inpatient and outpatient care across respiratory sub-specialties including General Respiratory, Cystic Fibrosis, Sleep Medicine, Bronchiectasis, and COPD.

  • Participate in the Respiratory Assessment Unit (RAU) on-call rota and deliver in-reach services at Queen’s Medical Centre.

  • Contribute to clinical governance, teaching, audit, and the supervision of junior doctors.

  • Engage in service development, leadership activities or research, with optional support for a personal/professional interest via the Trust’s Career Development Programme.
