A leading NHS hospital in the UK is seeking a Consultant Paediatrician with an interest in Paediatric Epilepsy to join its well-established paediatrics department. The team includes 22 experienced consultants, epilepsy nurse specialists, and a clinical psychologist, providing comprehensive care for children with epilepsy and neurological conditions. This role is open to both UK-based and international candidates, with preference for those holding CESR or entry on the GMC Specialist Register.
Portfolio support (formerly CESR) is available and can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND DETAILS
Full GMC Registration and CESR or entry on the GMC Specialist Register are required.
Experience in paediatric epilepsy and general paediatrics is essential.
The salary will range from £105,504 to £139,882 per annum, based on experience.
CORE DUTIES OF THIS ROLE
Deliver specialist Paediatric Epilepsy care, including outpatient clinics and multidisciplinary team meetings.
Work closely with paediatric epilepsy nurse specialists, psychologists, and paediatric neurologists to ensure high-quality epilepsy care.
Contribute to audit and research, participating in national epilepsy improvement programs.
Support the general paediatrics service, including out-of-hours cover on a shared 1:10 rota.
Provide teaching and training to junior doctors, medical students, and nursing staff.
Engage in clinical governance, research, and service development projects.
