Job Description

A UK-based NHS trust is looking for a Practitioner Psychologist – Clinical/Counselling (Band 8a) to join their Adult Psychology Service. The team is made up of psychologists, clinical team leaders, and multidisciplinary professionals who work together to provide comprehensive psychological services. This role is open to both international applications and UK-based candidates, though those with Chartered Status with the BPS are most encouraged to apply.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND DETAILS

• Candidates must hold a good honours degree in Psychology and eligibility for Graduate Membership of the BPS. A postgraduate qualification in Clinical Psychology and eligibility for Chartered Status are essential.
• The candidate should have experience in psychological assessment and treatment of adults with mental health issues. The salary will be competitive and dependent on experience or grade.

CORE DUTIES OF THIS ROLE

• Provide psychological assessment, formulation, and psychotherapy to adults with significant mental illness.
• Offer services across various community mental health teams in the area.
• Supervise and mentor trainee psychologists and assistants.
• Engage in research and development, contributing to audits and research evaluation.
