The central Deanery in Wales is based in Cardiff and is headed by Professor Derek Gallen, Postgraduate Dean. The Health Board enjoys a close relationship with the Postgraduate Deanery and annual visits to each centre ensure that the postgraduate education taking place across the Health Board is relevant and effective.
All consultants take a full and active role in postgraduate education both by the ongoing teaching commitment to their own junior staff and also by participating fully in multidisciplinary educational events across the Health Board.
