The Radiology service encompasses the General and Neuroradiology departments across the trusts main hospital sites.
The combined imaging facilities consist of four 128 slice CT scanners, two 3T MRIs (one shared with Durham University) and three 1.5T scanners. Apart from the research scanner all have been replaced within the last two years. There is also an on-site PET-CT with a planned SPECT-CT, eight ultrasound rooms, four fluoroscopy rooms, a hybrid endovascular suite and dual planar Neuroradiology suite. There is Trust-wide second generation PACS with voice recognition and the option for home reporting is currently under development.
The service is nationally acknowledged as one of the top performing Imaging and Interventional services. Complex vascular stenting procedures have been performed for 14 years. The NVD data base confirms excellent mortality outcomes for endovascular treatment of aortic aneurysms. The Centre has its own four bed and two recliner Day Unit with a supporting team of skilled nurses and radiographers to support patient intervention and diagnostic procedures.

The post holder will work in a Level 2a service so there are no designated beds. Patients requiring admission with haematological conditions will be admitted under the medical take team - and the consultant haematologist and / or senior clinical fellow will support the responsible clinicians on a daily basis through clinical advice and input.
The haematology team provides support to the Day Treatment Unit and patients attending for blood transfusion, platelets and other procedures.

Laboratories participate and perform well in national quality assurance schemes and is fully accredited. The service is also accredited for training with the Institute of Biomedical Science and registration with the Health Care Professions Council and the Royal College of Pathologists.
The role includes providing a service mainly during the day, and also out-of-hours, to give advice concerning the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of infectious diseases. Ward rounds are conducted daily to review and offer advice on the management of inpatients with serious infections.

Excellent opportunity to join a high performing Mental Health trust witin the inpatient sector. The centre in total is a 39 bedded inpatient unit catering for people who need an acute admission to hospital following a mental health crisis.
The unit, made up of two wards is based on a University Hospital site in central midlands. There are 19 beds on each ward, which are gender specific, and a 39th bed for the CAMHS service.
There is a medical team for each ward, consisting of a Consultant, Specialty Doctor and two Trainee Doctors. They work in collaboration with Nurses, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Peer Support Workers and other members of the social and recovery team.
This role is based within the male ward. A significant proportion of admissions are for a short stay for patients who have a range of mental presentations including psychosis, personality disorder and mood disorders.
The team, led by the Consultant, offers a comprehensive assessment and treatment package of person-centred care to all patients. Bi- weekly ward rounds allow for care plans to be monitored and close collaboration with patients, families and carers focusing on recovery. The team work towards facilitating timely discharge from hospital by working closely with colleagues in the Crisis Resolution Team and community services.
The post-holder will work in collaboration with the matron, ward manager, nurses and other members of the MDT to constantly ensure high quality care is delivered.

You will be working as part of an established Generic Outpatient CAMHS team contributing to the provision of a specialist and multi-disciplinary community based Child and Adolescent Mental Health service.
This role will involve working closely with schools, the local authority and GPs.

The Generic / Neurodevelopmental Team provides a comprehensive range of assessment and therapeutic interventions, and consultation to professionals dealing with children, young people and families with emotional and behavioural difficulties, as well as providing assessment and treatment for Autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions.
In the Generic/ NDS team the work may include initiating and following up patients on medication, diagnosis and treatment of ADHD, assessment and managing Autism Spectrum Disorders with co-morbid mental health problems; treating mood/ anxiety disorders and tic disorders, as well as a consultation role in complex cases involving multi-agency liaison including safeguarding.
