Job Description

Join a high performing inpatient department with two treatment wards as a Consultant Psychiatrist. This Mental Health Inpatient Service in Wales is supported by a collaborative multidisciplinary management team, and you will have the opportunity to drive positive change and enhance patient outcomes. 

The service consists of a 20-bedded service supported by a dedicated team of nurses, healthcare support workers, a ward clerk, and an activities coordinator. The treatment ward teams benefit from specialised colleagues in physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and psychology, promoting a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. Collaboration among the four consultants is encouraged, with regular meetings and virtual ward rounds to prioritise cases and support high-quality care. The Service Group actively engages in service development to meet user needs and ensure excellent care delivery.

As a consultant psychiatrist, you will provide a clinical service in collaboration with colleagues, taking responsibility for prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. Working closely with the multidisciplinary team, you will have ongoing responsibility for the well-being of patients, while also delegating and training staff.
