Job Description

An public hospital in the Channel Islands are looking for a Chief of Service for Secondary Care with an interest in medicine. The department comprises a team of senior clinical leaders and is supported by a large team of dedicated middle-grade doctors. This role is open to both international applications and UK-based doctors, though those with a relevant Specialist or GMC registration are most encouraged to apply.

Anyone requiring portfolio support (formally known as CESR) can have their required support discussed on a case-by-case basis.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND DETAILS

Experience as a senior clinician and a medical leadership background with a proven record at building teams and leading strategic management are required for this role, and anyone with an interest in developing clinical services should apply. The salary will be between £114,667 to £206,059, dependent on experience and grade. Specialist registration in a medicine specialty as well as NHS experience at consultant level is essential. 

CORE DUTIES OF THIS ROLE

  • Supervise and lead medical staff, managing the day-to-day operations of the Care Group
  • Ensure effective and efficient patient services that meet the highest quality standards
  • Develop, lead, and manage a team of Clinical Leads for various services within secondary care
  • Implement the Educational, Learning, and Research Strategy across secondary care.
