An excellent opportunity for an experienced Forensic Psychiatrist to join a an established service working primarily in a North London prison service in London. The post if suitable for overseas psychiatrists, including candidates who are pursuing CESR.
For overseas psychiatry specialists, applications from experienced Specialty Doctors and Consultants are welcomed, especially from those who wish to gain experience in forensic psychiatry as part of their general career path, or to those who are considering a permanent career in forensic psychiatry.
WHAT IS THIS MENTAL HEALTH TRUST LIKE?
The Trust is performing at a good level across all community and inpatient services, it provides integrated mental health services in London and also provides community health services across its catchment area. They are a large provider of integrated mental health services, employing 3,359 staff with an annual income of £237 million. The trust serves a population of 1.2 million and operates services from five main inpatient sites and a further 25 sites in the community. Specialist services include regional forensic, eating disorders and adolescent inpatient services and a national stalking service.
In 2014 they were awarded 'University Affiliated’ status, which facilitates stronger working relations, including the opportunity for experienced academics and experienced clinicians within the Trust to coproduce mental health education and research projects which meet the needs of local people. This agreement enhances the current partnership between the two organisations, demonstrating a strong commitment to education, research and development.
WHAT IS THE DEPARTMENT & TEAM LIKE?

The post will involve active participation in patient management, report writing, and contribution to case reviews and team meetings. One session is available for participation in our clinical governance and audit activities.
This is a large forensic psychiatric service which has been rated outstanding by the CQC on two consecutive occasions. They provide clinical care, assessment and advice in a wide range of inpatient and outreach community locations in North London.
