An opportunity for a Specialist or Consultant Psychiatrist to join a developing Specialist Perinatal Community Mental Health Teams. CESR is supported. 

These x2 full time NHS psychiatry vacancies would be based in the North West of England, providing stunning locations and a friendly place to live and work, 

This is a really exciting opportunity to work with women their infants and their families as part of a passionate multidisciplinary team. The team is in its second year of operation and this is an exciting time to join! 

WHAT IS THE NHS TRUST LIKE?

The Trust covers the whole of the county and employs around 7,500 members of staff across more than 420 sites, working with a multitude of partners to provide health & wellbeing services. WHAT IS THE PERINATAL PSYCHIATRY TEAM LIKE?

You would be joining an enthusiastic supportive team of Consultant Perinatal Psychiatrists covering the 3 clusters that provide specialist assessment and care for women with moderate to severe mental illness in the perinatal period.

The teams have been designed to meet RCPSYCH CCQI standards, and you will be working with RMNs, Psychologist, nursery nurses, occupational therapists, peer support workers, pharmacist and junior doctor in addition to service and team managers.

You will work with a large number of partners and stakeholders both in mental health services, universal services and specialist perinatal mental health midwives and health visitors.

The post holders will be expected to contribute to the on call rota out of hours and at weekend. This work will be remunerated appropriately. There is no requirement to be resident On Call.

ARE YOU ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE?

EEA Candidates:
  • Experience of working in General Adult Psychiatry
  • Experience or interest in working in Perinatal Psychiatry
  • Board Certified Specialist in Psychiatry (desirable)
Non-EEA Candidates:
  • MRCPsych
  • Experience of working in General Adult Psychiatry
  • Experience or interest in working in Perinatal Psychiatry
UK based applicants
  • Experience of working in General Adult Psychiatry
  • Experience or interest in working in Perinatal Psychiatry
