Specialist Doctor - General Adult Community Mental Health

Job Description

A mental health trust in the UK is looking for a Specialist Doctor in Adult Mental Health with an interest in community-based mental health care. The Adult Mental Health department comprises a team of multidisciplinary professionals, including psychologists, mental health practitioners, and support workers. This role is open to both international and UK-based doctors, though those with appropriate professional qualifications and eligibility under the Mental Health Act are most encouraged to apply.

Anyone requiring portfolio support (formally known as CESR) can have their required support discussed on a case-by-case basis.

Job Requirements and Details
  • Qualifications and experience: Full GMC registration with a license to practice and a minimum of six years of post-qualification experience.
  • Salary: £91,500 - £101,089 per annum, dependent on experience or grade.
  • Interest areas: Community-based mental health and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Core Duties of This Role
  • Provide comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, and evidence-based treatments for mental health needs.
  • Lead and supervise multidisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration.
  • Take responsibility for Mental Health Act (MHA) work, including complex patient reviews and community treatment orders.
  • Participate in clinical governance, research, and education initiatives.
