A UK-based teaching hospital is looking for a Consultant Stroke Physician with an interest in hyperacute and acute stroke care. The department offers comprehensive stroke services, including hyperacute, acute, and rehabilitation care, supported by a multidisciplinary team. This role is open to both international applications and UK-based doctors, though those with relevant specialist qualifications are most encouraged to apply.
Anyone requiring portfolio support (formally known as CESR) can have their required support discussed on a case-by-case basis.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND DETAILS
Candidates must possess full GMC registration and MRCP or equivalent qualifications. Entry on the Specialist Register or CCT within six months of the interview date is essential. Experience in stroke medicine or a Stroke Fellowship is desirable. The salary will be competitive and dependent on experience or grade.
CORE DUTIES OF THIS ROLE
Provide leadership in hyperacute, acute, and rehabilitation stroke services, including thrombolysis and TIA clinics.
Participate in an on-call rota to deliver weekend cover for stroke patients.
Work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality stroke care and support patient recovery.
Contribute to clinical governance, research, and education activities.
