Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a respiratory consultant to join this department of Respiratory Medicine within University Hospital based in the North West of England. 

This is an opportunity to develop your career & complete CESR in a dynamic and forward thinking department in a vibrant university city.

CESR: 

International candidates are welcome and CESR will be supported. The team has recent experience of supporting IMGs with the CESR process, benefiting any newly appointed candidate.

The trust boasts a flourishing clinical research portfolio within the respiratory department with an interesting mixture of industry, university and NIHR funded trials. The trust is also proud to be named as one of the 50 national Vanguard sites to promote integrated medical care across our catchment area.

There is considerable opportunity for an appointee to develop sub-specialist services

The department: 

The department offers modern and well-resourced inpatient facilities on dedicated wards. This includes NIV, High Flow Nasal Oxygen, Step down ventilatory care and pleural ultrasound.

Outpatient services include bronchoscopy lists across all sites with EBUS provision. They offer comprehensive pulmonary function facilitates across the trust including sleep services and bronchial provocation testing. The lung function labs have recently been upgraded to state of the art equipment including a brand new cardiopulmonary exercise machine with excellent exercise physiology research links at Lancaster University.

Specialist clinics are currently offered for lung cancer, interstitial lung disease, asthma, sleep/ventilation and TB.
