Job Description

A leading NHS hospital in the UK is seeking a Consultant in Clinical Oncology with a focus on Breast Cancer. The department consists of a team of experienced Clinical and Medical Oncologists, supported by a skilled nursing and medical team. This role is open to both UK-based and international candidates, with preference for those holding CESR or entry on the GMC Specialist Register.

Portfolio support (formerly CESR) is available and can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND DETAILS

  • Full GMC Registration and CESR or entry on the GMC Specialist Register are required.
  • The position offers flexibility, including less than full-time or flexible working arrangements.
  • The salary will range from £105,504 and £139,882 per annum (pro rata), based on experience.

CORE DUTIES OF THIS ROLE

  • Collaborate with Breast Cancer consultants to develop patient treatment pathways.
  • Engage in clinical trials and research, contributing to cutting-edge cancer treatments.
  • Manage MDT meetings, outpatient clinics, radiotherapy planning, and inpatient care.
  • Lead on the development of treatment protocols to improve patient outcomes.
  • Teach and mentor junior doctors and medical students.
  • Participate in on-call duties and contribute to departmental governance.
  • Maintain CPD accreditation as per Royal College guidelines.
