Job Description

A leading NHS hospital in the UK is seeking a Consultant in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery to join its growing surgical department. The team includes experienced Consultants, staff-grade doctors, and specialist nurses, providing high-quality care across the region. This role is open to both UK-based and international candidates, with preference for those holding CESR or entry on the GMC Specialist Register.

Portfolio support (formerly CESR) is available and can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND DETAILS

  • Full GMC/GDC Registration and CESR or entry on the GMC Specialist Register are required.
  • A subspecialty interest in Oral Cancer Surgery would be highly desirable.
  • The salary will range from £105,504 and £139,882 per annum, based on experience.

CORE DUTIES OF THIS ROLE

  • Provide comprehensive Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery services, including complex facial trauma and oral cancer surgery.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including Dermatology, ENT, and Oncology, to manage head and neck conditions.
  • Participate in weekly MDT meetings for the management of head and neck cancers and dermatological malignancies.
  • Engage in medical and dental education, training junior doctors and students.
  • Contribute to service improvement, governance, and clinical research.
  • Take part in on-call duties, covering maxillofacial trauma cases.
