An excellent opportunity for an experienced Specialty Doctor (SAS) or Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist to join a mixed gender acute psychiatric ward with 18 beds in London. The post if suitable for overseas psychiatrists, including candidates who are pursuing CESR. Specialists in Psychiatry, holding a specialist certification would be suitable for this post, based on experience entering at either Specialty Doctor or Consultant grade.

WHAT IS THIS MENTAL HEALTH TRUST LIKE?
The Trust is performing at a good level across all community and inpatient services, it provides integrated mental health services in London and also provides community health services across its catchment area. They are a large provider of integrated mental health services, employing 3,359 staff with an annual income of £237 million.
The trust serves a population of 1.2 million and operates services from five main inpatient sites and a further 25 sites in the community. Specialist services include regional forensic, eating disorders and adolescent inpatient services and a national stalking service.
In 2014 they were awarded 'University Affiliated’ status, which facilitates stronger working relations, including the opportunity for experienced academics and experienced clinicians within the Trust to coproduce mental health education and research projects which meet the needs of local people. This agreement enhances the current partnership between the two organisations, demonstrating a strong commitment to education, research and development.
WHAT IS THE DEPARTMENT & TEAM LIKE?
The pre-existing team is commissioned by hospital and provides a co-located integrated liaison support for the Paediatric and Neonatal Units at the hospital. The team provide clinical input for in-patients and out-patients under the care of these departments who have comorbid or combined psychological and medical needs. The team are not commissioned for crisis input.
The Team anticipates about 600 referrals to the MHLS per site per year across two hospitals under the trust. Roughly 60% of these are in ED and need one assessment which is carried out initially by the local CAMHS teams and the OOH nurse team. Approximately 30 CYP a year present on a Section136 to A&E in both sites requiring psychiatric evaluation. Of the 600 referrals up to 60% will remain on the pediatric wards and will require Liaison Psychiatry.
The successful post-holder will have their own desk and office space within the Paediatric Consultant office area and immediate access to private rooms for confidential work. They will have a mobile phone, a desktop and also a laptop for remote working, with access to IT support. The post holder will have access to full time administrator support.

An opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist in Liaison Psychiatry to join an established Liaison Psychiatry Team based in North West England, near Manchester. You would be joining a Team operating within the Emergency Department (A&E) and Medical Assessment Wards. CESR, Section 12 and AC training & development are supported in this NHS post.

A rapid mental health assessment service for individuals aged 16 and over who present to the Accident & Emergency Department and Medical Assessment Unit of the Acute Trusts.
Mental health assessments and advice for clients who are in-patients on medical wards within the Acute Trusts
Comprehensive risk and mental health assessments to a standardised level of best practice
Advice and support to colleagues within the Acute Trusts
Signposting/referral onto relevant statutory and non-statutory agencies as identified, including Single Point of Access (SPOA), Perinatal Community Mental Health Teams (PCMHT), Home Treatment Teams (HTT), Substance Misuse Services and Housing and Emergency Social Services Team in response to client need
Improved communication between the Accident and Emergency Department, Mental health services and other departments within the Acute Trust Hospital setting in relation to patient care and management
