An excellent opportunity for an experienced Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join an established and experienced multidisciplinary team CAMHS Community Mental Health Team in London. This NHS community team is established within the London Sector and provides Generic CAMHS to a large catchment area.
The post if suitable for overseas psychiatrists, including candidates who are pursuing CESR.
WHAT IS THIS NHS MENTAL HEALTH TRUST LIKE?
This NHS Trust is performing at a good level across all community and inpatient services, it provides integrated mental health services in the area and also provides community health services.
They are a large provider of integrated mental health services, employing 3,359 staff with an annual income of £237 million. The trust serves a population of 1.2 million and operates services from five main inpatient sites and a further 25 sites in the community. Specialist services include regional forensic, eating disorders and adolescent inpatient services and a national stalking service.
Since 2011, the Trust has provided general community health services in London to adults and children to meet the physical healthcare needs of people in the community.
In 2014 they were awarded 'University Affiliated’ status, which facilitates stronger working relations, including the opportunity for experienced academics and experienced clinicians within the Trust to coproduce mental health education and research projects which meet the needs of local people. This agreement enhances the current partnership between the two organisations, demonstrating a strong commitment to education, research and development.
WHAT IS THE CAMHS TEAM LIKE?
The Community CAMHS Team Centre sits within the trusts Specialist Service Line which also includes the North London Forensic Service, Eating Disorder Service and Substance Misuse Services. They work very closely with local Inpatient Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service and Adolescent CAMHS teams across the three boroughs, as well as the Paediatric Liaison teams within the London Sector.
CAMHS staff work alongside a range of other professionals, including medical services, schools, social services, and third sector organisations to provide consultation, advice and training. This NHS job will be based in generic CAMHS, providing multi-disciplinary assessment and treatment of children and young people with mental health or severe emotional and behavioural difficulties. You will join one CAMHS team, part of seven teams which work closely together
Generic CAMHS provides assessment, treatment and support to children and young people aged 0-18 years and their families for a range of mental health, behavioural and emotional well-being needs. The service offers a range of individual, family and group based interventions.
