What is the department & team like?

The Respiratory Medicine Department offers a full spectrum of inpatient and outpatient specialist services. Inpatient care ward features 28 beds and recently received an enhanced ventilation refurbishment. The ward includes a dedicated treatment room with a mobile Sonosite Ultrasound, ensuring top-notch, consultant-led care. Daily multidisciplinary team meetings facilitate best practices and patient-centered approaches, while medical education and quality improvement are integral to our rounds. Outpatient services include a fully equipped lung function laboratory and a range of lung function tests performed by professional physiologists.

They also offer an ambulatory pleural service and share bronchoscopy lists. EBUS, interventional bronchoscopy, and Thoracoscopy procedures are conducted at the Eastbourne endoscopy unit. A committed secretarial team supports the department, providing dedicated office space and IT facilities for the post holder.
