Job Description

A leading hospital in the Midlands is looking for a Consultant Physician in Elderly Care with an interest in frailty services. The Geriatric Medicine department consists of a team of experienced consultants and is supported by a multidisciplinary team of middle-grade doctors. This role is open to both UK-based and international applicants, though those with MRCP (UK) or equivalent qualifications are most encouraged to apply.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND DETAILS

Full GMC Registration with a Licence to Practise and clinical training and experience enabling autonomous decision making in geriatric medicine is required for this role. Anyone with an interest in frailty services should apply. The salary will be upwards of £105k per annum as this is a consultant post, and further increase is dependent on experience or grade.

CORE DUTIES OF THIS ROLE

  • Provide inpatient care for elderly patients in both acute and community settings.
  • Work within a team delivering frailty and geriatrics services, including Orthogeriatrics and Front Door Frailty.
  • Contribute to teaching and training of junior doctors and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Engage with community care teams to support integrated patient care across primary and secondary services.
