The department is committed to the continued development of a medical workforce which delivers integrated evidence based services and actively engages in continued service improvement to drive and deliver safe and high standard services. The Mental Health Service has an excellent track record, and has won national prizes from the Royal College of Psychiatry award for its dedication to improve adult mental health services.
This is a great opportunity for overseas Middle Grade Doctors who want to establish themselves in the NHS, and begin their NHS career. The post is suitable for candidates holding specialisation in the EEA, or for experienced IMGs looking to complete CESR.
WHAT IS THE HEALTH BOARD LIKE?
The University Health Board provides healthcare services to a population across West Wales. The Health Board provides Acute, Primary, Community, Mental Health and Learning Disabilities services via General and Community Hospitals, Health Centres, GP\'s, Dentists, Pharmacists and Optometrists and other sites. Integrated health boards are a key first step in creating a world class NHS in Wales. The Health Board has 11,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services for around 384,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales.

WHAT IS THE DEPARTMENT & TEAM LIKE?
The Department provides specialist healthcare to adults who have a diagnosed learning disability. The team is committed to providing evidence-based, safe, and effective care that is centred on each person\'s individual needs and delivers clear outcomes. The service they provide include specialist assessment and support for people with complex and challenging needs, enabling people to access a range of services to keep them healthy, and a range of initiatives to reduce and overcome the health inequalities that can be experienced by people with learning disabilities.
The team works closely with a range of partners, including social care, GPs, voluntary sector, and user-led organisation. They also work with other health professional across the health board to ensure services are accessible for people with a learning disability and that we provide whole person care. The department consists of learning disability nurses, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, speech and language therapist, psychologist, psychiatrist, behaviour practitioners and social workers.

The University Health Board is in an area wherein there are excellent choice of schools and very reasonable property prices while having a picturesque countryside view.
