WHAT IS THE MENTAL HEALTH TRUST LIKE?
This NHS Trust is performing at a good level across all community and inpatient services, it provides integrated mental health services and also provides community health services in several boroughs of London. They are a large provider of integrated mental health services, employing 3,359 staff with an annual income of £237 million. The trust serves a population of 1.2 million and operates services from five main inpatient sites and a further 25 sites in the community. Specialist services include regional forensic, eating disorders and adolescent inpatient services and a national stalking service. Since 2011, the Trust has provided general community health services in the London Borough to adults and children to meet the physical healthcare needs of people in the community.
In 2014 they were awarded \'University Affiliated’ status, which facilitates stronger working relations, including the opportunity for experienced academics and experienced clinicians within the Trust to coproduce mental health education and research projects which meet the needs of local people. WHAT IS THE OLDER ADULTS DEPARTMENT & TEAM LIKE?
Based out of a London Old Age Community Mental Health Team, you will provide leadership and supervision for a multidisciplinary community mental health team (CMHT) for older people and will work closely with the Memory Service (MS), providing clinical input to that service. You will have responsibility for the diagnostic assessment and treatment of older adult psychiatric patients from the designated catchment area referred to and accepted by the service. Outpatient clinics and domiciliary visits in the community will constitute the majority of the direct clinical care provided by the Consultant. There will be a one day a week commitment to the Memory Service.
The personnel of the CMHT include: medical staff, Community Psychiatric Nurses, Occupational Therapist, and Psychiatric Social Workers. There is a Psychological Therapy Department which provides therapy for older adults and which works across CMHTs in the Borough as does the Occupational Therapy Service. A secretarial team provides administrative support.

An opportunity for an experienced General Adult Psychiatrist to join a dedicated and passionate NHS Acute Inpatient Ward in the North West of England.
This full time post is based in a modern state of the art building with 154 Inpatient beds. In addition to the Acute Inpatient ward, there are specialist Dementia wards, Advanced Care wards, Male and Female Treatment Wards and a Male and Female PICU, There is also a 136 suite on site.
