Applications are open for experienced consultant Rheumatologists to join a University Hospital Trust in the South West of England. The department specialises in the diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management of rheumatological conditions such as inflammatory arthritis, connective tissue disease and osteoporosis.
CESR:

Department overview:
We are mainly an outpatient based service but offer our expertise to other specialties within the hospital and see patients on the wards.
The team is well staffed, and the successful applicant will be working collaboratively with a full multidisciplinary team, including experienced Consultants, Middle Grades, specialist nurses & health care assistants, physiotherapists (including hydrotherapy), occupational therapists, a pharmacist, secretarial and administrative staff and a research team.
The Rheumatology clinics see both new referrals and follow ups with a dedicated early arthritis clinic.
Specialised clinics include:
• A young adult clinic
• An acute clinic were we see new patients suspected of having Giant Cell Arteritis
• A lower limb combined clinic with our Orthopaedic Colleagues
• A combined clinic with Dermatology
• Two joint injection clinics per week on site
• An osteoporosis clinic

An opportunity is available to join a renowned teaching foundation trust in the East of England, working in and contributing to the development of their out patient-centred Rheumatology service.
Covering outpatient services in the general Rheumatology clinics and joint consultant sub-specialty clinics, the role will also provide Teaching and training to the junior staff, nursing staff and medical students.
The post will also involve 2 sessions / week in Emergency Assessment and Discharge Unit (EADU) and take part in the GIM on-call rota (1 in 11).
Requirements for this position are:
MRCP
Extensive experience in Rheumatology
SCE in Rheumatology is desireable
IELTS or OET
Some interest in teaching or mentoring is desireable
Senior Rheumatologists who desire to attain CCT or CESR in Rheumatology and work as NHS Consultants are invited to apply.
