JOB REQUIREMENTS AND DETAILS
Eligibility for full registration with the GMC is essential, and inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register (or within six months of CCT) in Diabetes & Endocrinology and General Internal Medicine are preferred though not essential, as well as NHS epxerience. Anyone with an interest in inpatient diabetes care, diabetes technology, endocrine testing or specialist clinics such as painful neuropathy, foot care or thyroid management should apply.
CORE DUTIES OF THIS ROLE
Provide consultant-led care for Diabetes and Endocrinology patients through clinics and inpatient responsibilities under the Consultant of the Week model.
Participate in the general internal medicine on-call rota, currently 1 in 17 weekends.
Contribute to specialist diabetes clinics (e.g. antenatal, foot, pump) and endocrine clinics, with opportunity to develop further subspecialist areas of interest.
Participate in teaching of medical students, junior doctors and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the delivery of UEA Module 6 in Diabetes and Endocrinology.
