The service is a team of excellent and forward thinking doctors consisting of: psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, creative therapists and family therapists. There is currently funding for 4.8 WTE Community Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists. The service aims to keep children and adolescents at home with increased support if possible. The Trust provides a comprehensive Specialist Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service for young people that are 19 years and under.
The department has a Crisis Team that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. While the Home Treatment (Intensive Intervention Team) aims to work from 8AM to 6PM, 7 days a week. The services is provided at various locations across the town in order to be able to offer families an accessible and convenient service within a less stigmatising and less threatening environment. There is also a team that works with people aged between 14 and 65, who are experiencing their first episode of psychosis or might be at risk of developing psychosis.
The post holder expected to make assessment of referrals/admissions. The post holder will liaise and collaboratively work with other services/agencies. The successful candidate is expected to have a care plan and treatment formulation, guidance on evidence-based treatment and effectiveness.

Currently, three purpose-built units provide in-patient services for acute mental health. Community mental health teams cover the areas mentioned above with Consultant input, and one Consultant based at the Department of Psychological Medicine undertakes liaison work.
Community Mental Health Services has a practice population of approximately 122,500, including 17,500 people over the age of 65 and 4,300 people aged 80 and above. However, there are already several services within the Trust that reduce the dependence of the catchment population on the CMHT. Both inpatient units have Intensive Home Care Teams that provide home-based treatments as an alternative to hospital admission, with the consultant responsible for the medical management of patients seen by each team already known to the CMHT in their locality.
The post holder is expected to provide high-level clinical leadership and practice to the multi-disciplinary team while providing a comprehensive mental health service to older people and their families. The appointee is also expected to provide medical leadership, support, and supervision to the Multi-Disciplinary Team, to participate in continuing professional development, and to comply with all Trust policies and procedures. The duties of the post are subject to review, and any alterations to the described duties will be mutually agreed between the appointee and the Trust.

Respiratory consultants with aspirations to attain consultant status in the NHS via CESR or CCT are urged to apply.
Joining an established and settled team of 8 respiratory consultants across both sites in the trust, the department has well managed services in lung cancer, sleep, bronchiectasis and COPD.
Whilst any subspecialty is welcome those with asthma, ILD or cancer interests would be especially desirable.
This hospital in the trust is concentrated on the Respiratory outpatient activity and there are established and proactive day hospitals administering omalizumab and IVIG, flush portacaths in addition to well established pathways for ambulatory care of PE and cellulitis.
The hospital has 182 acute medical beds and Monday - Friday all admissions are assessed by the dedicated acute physicians team which allows for a steady and controlled follow of mostly respiratory patients with some general medical patients to the respiratory team.
There is some on call with this position.
