WHAT IS THE DEPARTMENT & TEAM LIKE?
The Team uses quality improvement to continuously transform their service. The team communicates openly in a consistent and honest way. They embrace innovation, research and applying evidence-based practice whilst evaluating their performance. They treat patients with suspected minor strokes and Transient Ischaemic Attacks (TIAs) in a daily assessment unit in an attempt to prevent further larger strokes occurring.
The team currently has six stroke consultants, two academic consultants, one neurologist and one acute medicine consultant, providing a 24 hour 7 day a week service. Care ranges from emergency assessment and treatments (including clot-busting thrombolysis therapy and clot retrieval) in the first few hours after stroke to rehabilitation (physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy). These help the stroke survivor to return home and regain independence after a stroke.
The successful applicant will join an enthusiastic team with a specialist interest in stroke care. This appointment will play a key part in further developments of the stroke pathway, providing input to hyper acute stroke, acute stroke, intensive rehab and continuing stroke rehabilitation.

We are currently looking to recruit Geriatricians to join a team with an excellent clinical reputation in providing a range of elderly care services. Applications are welcome from geriatricians with a range of experience, from specialty doctor to consultant. CESR is supported in this role.
UK and international applications are welcomed. You will join a consultant team delivering high quality elderly care services, meeting the needs of service to frail and older patients wherever they are based in the community or hospital.
Looking for either UK based or experienced overseas histopathologists - this role can be offered on either a locum (fixed-term) contract or as a substantive role with AAC Panel interview.
Consultants preparing for CESR can also be accommodated - dependent on experience.
The Opportunity
All positions will be offered on a 10PA, forty hours per week contract, and consultants with special interest in gynecology, upper and lower GI, dermatopathology, urology, breast and head & neck are of particular interest.
