WHAT IS THE DEPARTMENT & TEAM LIKE?
The department is a team of established multi professional doctors at the Clinical Assessment Unit. It is a 14 bedded in-patient facility, which offers assessment for people with a variety of mental health needs across several towns. On Clinical Decisions Unit, a high level of skill and knowledge is required across the team, who are providing assessment, observation and care to people who are in a crisis or experiencing complex needs.
Although every patient’s journey is individualised, the emphasis on the assessment, and clinical decisions are usually made with a plan to support recovery, within a 7-day period. The post holder is expected to:
- Providing medical treatment within a model of multi-disciplinary care.
- Compiling a patient’s history from a number of sources and preparing case summaries and discharge summaries.
- Preparing reports for Mental Health Review Tribunals and Managers’ Hearings and giving evidence.
- Liaising with other clinical teams within and outside of the trust.
- Liaising with general practitioners and medical specialists with regards the physical health of the patients.

The department is transforming their children and young people’s mental health services across Greater Manchester and looking for people to join their fantastic team. They have lots of jobs available from assistant mental health practitioners, staff nurses, senior mental health practitioners, psychotherapists and psychologists.
The service is a 12 bedded unit, and helps children and young people up to the age of 16 years, and provide assessments, intervention and support to their families/carers. The CAMHS inpatient services operate 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and accept emergency, planned and out of hours admissions. The CAMHS Inpatient services also provides Tier 4 consultation, and advice to other professionals and the successful candidate will take a lead in providing their clinical expertise. The also provide consultation, advice and training to other agencies and accept referrals from a wide range of professionals.
The post holder is expected to take clinical responsibility for all 12 young people who are inpatient on the unit, & manage a caseload of clients who are receiving direct high intensity input. WHAT IS THE ONCOLOGY DEPARTMENT & TEAM LIKE?
The Oncology Department operates within the Cancer Centre Directorate, which is a part of the Planned Care Group at the Hospital. As a Cancer Centre, the hospital actively participates in its regional Cancer Alliance. The Consultant team consists of two medical oncologists (soon to be three) and nine clinical oncologists who are primarily stationed at the Cancer Centre in the Hospital. They conduct outpatient sessions and chemotherapy clinics in various nearby locations.
The service participates in multidisciplinary team meetings. The Trust has a dedicated Acute Oncology Service led by one of the Medical Oncologists, with support from senior Clinical Nurse Specialists. In addition, there is a shared Oncology and Haematology ward with 20+ beds. Inpatient care for oncology patients is managed by the appropriate medical or surgical teams, with regular input from the Acute Oncology and specialist oncology teams.
The post holder will share clinical and managerial leadership within the Oncology department with the present consultants. The post holder will be provided with a designated office base with full secretarial and administrative support. This support and the working conditions provided will be equitable across all of the Consultants within the Oncology department.

WHAT IS THE DEPARTMENT & TEAM LIKE?
The Department runs the Critical Care Unit and accepts admissions from all the other associated acute specialties in consultation with the on-duty Critical Care Consultant. The team is responsible for the pre-operative assessment unit and provides cover for ECT and X-ray lists, as well as running the acute and chronic pain services. The Department constitute a pivotal component of the trauma team and provide resuscitation services in emergency situations throughout the hospital. It has been the ethos of the department to be progressive and to provide state of the art anaesthetic and ICU services for our patients.
The Department has the highest quality anaesthetics machines, ventilators and monitors available, including Cardiac Output monitoring in all areas. They have a variety of ultrasound machines, with significant interest in regional anaesthesia within the department. There are new blood gas analysers in theatre and ICU as well as a ROTEM machine. They are provide a comprehensive vascular access service and support the efficient delivery of both elective and emergency anaesthesia as well as significantly enhancing the ability to provide high quality training.
The post holder will be expected to undertake their programmed activities split between Intensive Care and Anaesthetics sessions. The post holder will be expected to conduct clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements within the parameters of the Division’s and Health Board’s agreed objectives.

An outstanding NHS Job opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Perinatal Psychiatrist to join a county-wide Perinatal Psychiatry Service. There is a high level of support within the team, as well as an opportunity to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders across services. The department is part of an NHS Trust that is rated \"outstanding\" overall by the CQC.
Established and launched in April 2019, the department became a county-wide service that is led by 2.0 WTE consultant psychiatrists, along with their operational lead. The team receives, on average, 20-25 referrals a week, with the most common source of referrals being from midwives. Self-referrals to the service are also accepted. Referrals are screened and triaged on a daily basis.
The post holder is expected to:
- Provide assessment, treatment and management of moderate – severe perinatal mental health disorders and high risk service users who have a GP during the perinatal period (antenatally and currently up to 12 months postnatally, but will expand to supporting up to 24 months postnatally).
- Deliver joint obstetric and psychiatric antenatal clinics, and it is expected that this offer will extend to the main hospital.
- Provide preconception advice to women with complex mental health needs
- Provide outreach for Luton and Bedfordshire mothers on leave from the Mother and Baby Units and facilitate early discharge from the wards, and provide ongoing support.

An outstanding NHS Job opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Perinatal Psychiatrist to join a county-wide Perinatal Psychiatry Service. There is a high level of support within the team and the department is part of an NHS Trust that has an excellent record in training and development for specialty doctors with specific training days and development opportunities.
Established and launched in April 2019, the department became a county-wide service that is led by 2.0 WTE consultant psychiatrists, along with their operational lead. The team receives, on average, 20-25 referrals a week, with the most common source of referrals being from midwives. Self-referrals to the service are also accepted. Referrals are screened and triaged on a daily basis.
The post holder is expected to:
- Liaise with GPs, antenatal services, midwives and health visitors to support women being managed in primary care to prevent deterioration.
- Work in partnership with other mental health teams providing support to women with perinatal mental health disorders.
- Deliver specialist training for other mental health teams, midwives, GPs, health visitors and others who work with women with perinatal mental health problems.

What is the Oncology Department like?
This Cancer Centre provides a high degree of specialisation for all the major cancers. It has one dedicated ward of 30 beds (with scope to increase to 36 beds at periods of high demand) for both oncology and haematology patients, together with a chemotherapy and haematology day unit, and an aseptic unit on site. There are also two laminar flow rooms for patients requiring bone marrow/stem cell transplantation and one dedicated room for radioactive isotope therapy.
There is a state of the art telemedicine facility allowing regular multi-professional meetings between oncologists, physicians, surgeons and AHPs in Wales. The system has the capacity to transmit and view both high quality radiological images and histopathological slides.
The staff are highly experienced, consisting of nurses, radiographers, research officers and admin staff. The new consultant will be joining a friendly and forward-thinking consultant team of clinical and medical oncologists who are committed to delivering highest standards of cancer care, alongside a large team of other clinical and non-clinical professionals.

The Cancer Centre is heavily involved in training which takes place at all levels from undergraduate lectures and clinical teaching, through to Foundation and Core Medical trainee clinical and educational supervision, and higher specialist training. They will also provide excellent CESR support.

THE ONCOLOGY DEPARTMENT AND TEAM:
The department is responsible for SACT services for adults with solid tumours in the region of Wales. The majority (60%) of day-case services are delivered on site, while there is a long-established network of outreach sites in LHB acute and community hospitals, and based with 3rd-sector providers.
Based on its professional and public reputation for delivering excellence in terms of patient and staff experience, the Trust has has been selected to lead the ‘Transforming Cancer Services’ programme and to build a new hospital. The new site will be a £200million pound development and will open in the coming years. It will be nearly twice the size of the current hospital and will be equipped with brand new, state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment facilities
The new site will have 10 new linear accelerators, 2 CT and 2 MRI scanners to support precision image-guided and adaptive radiotherapy. There will be a dedicated clinical trials treatment unit including a 10-bedded early phase trials unit, and 2 isotope cubicles for molecular radiotherapy treatments.

The department is part of an NHS Trust, which was awarded the Community-Based Mental Health Services for Older People a “Good” rating. The NHS Trust is one of the most diverse healthcare providers in the UK, delivering a range of mental health, physical healthcare and community services commissioned locally and nationally. In London the trust provides mental and physical healthcare in three London boroughs. It employs over 3800 staff providing care and treatment for more than 800,000 people.
The Older Persons Mental Health Service encompasses a specialist service for patients with complex, severe and enduring functional mental illness over age 70, as well as the Cognitive Impairment and Dementia Service which offers an ageless assessment and management services for people with cognitive impairment and primary dementias, including both diagnosis and management of BPSD. Where patients with a severe and enduring mental illness develop a dementia, they will be jointly managed to offer a holistic care and management plan. The service also provides support to patients in residential or nursing care. They work closely with other specialist and intermediate care services to provide as seamless a service as possible for their patient’s health and care needs. The service will have an overall caseload of approximately 110 patients. The referral rate is approximately 3 cases per week and the post holder will be involved with the diagnosis, ongoing management and crisis support of the patients.
The post holder will take a leading role in developing the service, supervising junior colleagues and providing lead medical input to a multi- disciplinary team and be required to enter information on the Trust\'s electronic patient record system according to Trust policies. The post holder is expected to work within the multidisciplinary team promoting respect for all professional groups and focusing on coherent and integrated team work.
